The Hancock County Democrats are your neighbors — Democrats organizing across the county to register voters, support candidates, and show up for one another. We are a big-tent group welcoming Democrats, Independents, and Progressives to our organization. We are the only Democratic office of the 82 counties in Mississippi open year-round!
The Hancock County Democratic Executive Committee is the county-level body of the Mississippi Democratic Party. We meet monthly, recruit and support candidates, and organize the voter registration and turnout work that keeps our democracy honest.
Our work is hyper-local: school boards, county supervisors, statehouse races, and the everyday business of making sure every eligible Hancock County resident can cast a ballot that counts.
You don’t have to be a longtime activist to belong here. Some of us were born and raised in Mississippi. Others found their way here later in life and chose to make Mississippi home. Most of us came in through a friend, a cause, or a lawn sign that didn’t quite fit the neighborhood. We made room, we kept showing up, and there’s a place at the table for you, too.
Government should answer to the people — not corporations, billionaires, or extremists.
Every person deserves equal rights, equal protection, and equal opportunity under the law.
People working 40 hours a week should not live in poverty.
No child should ever be afraid of being shot at school.
Freedom means personal liberty, bodily autonomy, free speech, and the right to live without fear or discrimination.
Every family deserves access to good jobs, healthcare, education, and affordable housing.
We are stronger when we support one another and reject division, hatred, and political violence.
Different backgrounds, cultures, identities, and beliefs make our communities stronger — not weaker.
Public officials should serve the public honestly, ethically, and transparently.
Every person deserves fairness, dignity, and protection from discrimination, poverty, and systemic inequality.
A society is judged by how it treats children, workers, veterans, seniors, and vulnerable people.
We believe Mississippi's future can be fairer, safer, kinder, and more democratic for everyone.
